Speaking Out Against Injustice: The Village Green Records Project

While a junior at Ball State, I initiated an ad hoc fundraising campaign to replace vandalized picnic tables outside of Village Green Records, a beloved local record shop near campus. After seeing the owner's post about the damage, I launched a GoFundMe campaign and rallied the Ball State community to contribute. We raised over $600 and were featured in the city's local newspaper. I collaborated with a few students who built two new picnic tables in the university's woodshop which allowed the shop owner to use the funds to create a community listening space within the business!
